A team from the head office was sent to the spot to ascertain the reason behind the fire
HYDERABAD: Two coaches of an empty train caught fire at Medchal railway station yard on Tuesday afternoon. According to the South Central Railway (SCR) officials, the rakes were stationed in the yard since September 22.
“The on-duty staff immediately stepped-in and isolated the two of the ten coaches of the train and disconnected their Overhead Electrical Supply before the fire could spread to other coaches. The fire department was also alerted and one fire tender pressed into service to douse the blaze,” an SCR official said.
Meanwhile, a team from the head office was sent to the spot to ascertain the reason behind the fire.
While the fire department officials found no signs of a short circuit, they have taken up the investigation to find out the cause of the fire.
