Zambo Sur fire leaves 3 children dead

Three kids were killed in a fire that broke out Thursday morning in Zamboanga del Sur’s Dumalinao town, Pagadian fire officials said.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Perlito Bustamante said the children —aged 3, 4, and 8 —were trapped in their padlocked house.
Bustamante identified the two children as Princess and Marvin Verzosa.
“Pinad-lock nila. Siguro parang instruction o sistema sa bahay … parang hindi naman padlock, parang tali lang,” Bustamante said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV on Thursday.
Their two elder siblings went out to fetch water for their neighbor to earn money, he added.
Their father was away for work, and their mother is working abroad.
Based on initial investigation, the fire started from an improvised stove in their kitchen. —Joviland Rita/LBG, GMA news
