Fire hits warehouse; medical supply earmarked for DOH among damaged items

A large part of a warehouse was burned late Tuesday afternoon in Quezon City, among the items that were damaged were medical supply earmarked for delivery to the Department of Health (DOH), Katrina Son reported on Saksi.
The estimated cost of damage was pegged at P30 million at the fire in Barangay Apolonio Samson in Quezon City.
The general merchandise warehouse, which is also where the owner resides.
Manolo Ang, warehouse owner, said the fire spread quickly because of the toothpaste stored at the site.
The Bureau of Fire Protection is investigating the incident, including the finding that there were workers at the site despite the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, said Col. Jaime Ramirez, QC District Fire Marshal.
A worker, meanwhile, explained that they were just conducting an inventory. — BAP, GMA News
