These buildings were checked on Tuesday. The notices were issued on Wednesday after reports were received from field officers. The chief fire officer M F Dastoor said that of the six building checked on Tuesday, only two had operable fire safety systems.
On Wednesday, the department checked six building and found that not a single building had safety systems in place. According to officials, on Tuesday two towers of Model Square in Prahladnagar were checked and fire safety systems were found not to be in place. The building did not have a fire no-objection certificate (NOC) either.
In the case of Parshwanath Business Park in Prahladnagar, the report stated that there was no switch to operate the water pump, window glasses and glasses in the staircase need to be removed, the main gate has to be widened to six meters and the divider in between has to be removed.
The fire officer checked Sanjay Tower, Dhananjay Tower, Sachin Tower and a commercial establishment on the Shyamal to Prahladnagar stretch. The officials said that at Sanjay Tower, the fire system was working, while it wasn’t at Dhananjay Tower. The water pipeline was also ruptured, the report on Dhananjay tower stated.
In the case of Sachin Tower, the entire system was not operation. At the commercial establishment the fire system was operational, but the authorities have suggested minor technical changes.
