AGRA: In a case of road rage, a 32-year-old man was allegedly set afire by four youths on Wednesday night after his motorcycle scraped the vehicle of the suspects in Kishorepura area of Vrindavan.
According to police, the victim, Vishnu Singh, was admitted to a hospital with burn injuries on upper part of his body.
Police said the incident occurred after Vishnu’s bike scraped the motorcycle of the suspect, Babu, which was parked on the roadside. They reportedly got into a heated argument but the matter was resolved after some local residents intervened.
A few hours later, Babu and his associates returned and thrashed Vishnu when he came out of his house for a walk. The suspects poured kerosene on him and set him afire in a bid to kill him, alleged Vishnu’s brother Than Singh, who later filed a police complaint against the suspects.
Vishnu was immediately taken to a hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. Than Singh said that his brother also received injuries on his head and he was given several stitches.
Police claimed that Vishnu and Babu had a long pending dispute, which was triggered on Wednesday following the minor incident. The matter is being investigated. However, no one has been arrested so far.
