Fire breaks out in Chhani boutique

VADODARA: A fire broke out at a boutique in Fortune Gateway complex in Chhani area on Friday. The incident occurred at about 9am when Queens Boutique was closed so no one suffered any injuries. “After we received the call, we rushed to the spot and found that the boutique was closed. We broke open the shutter and doused the fire,” said Om Jadeja, fire officer.
“The boutique was full of clothes so it took a while to douse the fire. Primary investigations revealed that the boutique owners had installed new wiring in the boutique’s changing room. Fire seems to have started from there,” Jadeja told TOI. The fire brigade has issued notice to the boutique owners for not having no-objection certificate and also stocking clothes beyond their property’s capacity. A notice has also been issued to the complex management.
