25 shops gutted in fire in Mumbai’s Nalasopara

MUMBAI: Around 25 shops were gutted in a fire that broke out Jadhav market in Nalasopara (east) on Sunday morning.
The fire occurred at around 5 am. All the shops, selling items from clothes to electronics, were shut. The Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) fire brigade contained the fire in an hour.
The entire area that is surrounded with two and three storey residential buildings was covered in smoke.
The cause of the fire has not been ascertained. Gas cylinders were found in the market.
Firemen said that cooling operation is underway. The market area is often crowded and has a number of illegal shops.
