Kolkata: Fire breaks out at Aaykar Bhavan

KOLKATA: A fire broke out at the third floor of Aaykar Bhavan at Esplanade in Kolkata on Tuesday evening, scaring employees who rushed down the emergency staircase while the building was evacuated.
Fire officials said the fire was spotted around 4.40pm at the server room on the third floor of the building. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames and smoke within an hour.
“We could confine the fire within the server room itself. No one was injured and the extent of damage is yet to be ascertained,” a fire official said.
