Thane: Major fire erupts in chemical godown in Bhiwandi

BHIWANDI: A major fire broke out in a chemical godown situated in Valgaon area in Bhiwandi on Tuesday.
Fire brigade officials said the blaze erupted at 1.40am on Tuesday in the chemical godown situated at Prerna compound.
“Fire tenders from Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Thane are trying to control the blaze even as huge smoke can be seen billowing out of the chemical godown,” said a fire official.
Before the fire could spread, all staff present inside the chemical godown managed to escape.
