Updated: 2019–07–23
MUMBAI: One of the last persons to be rescued from the fire-affected MTNL building in Bandra (west) on Monday was Kamothe resident Pankaj Meshram.
The 27-year-old man said that he works in MTNL’s electrical and maintenance department on the eighth floor and had rushed to the terrace after he heard of the fire.
“However, on reaching the building terrace, I found that several elderly persons as well as several women waiting to be rescued. Therefore, when the fire ladder reached our side, I stepped aside and asked the others to get on to it first. Several people who were stranded on the terrace with me were panicking,” Meshram told TOI.
