Updated: 20190729

AHMEDABAD: A resident of Sola, whose sister died in the fire tragedy Ganesh Genesis in Sola two days ago, wrote to the city police commissioner, A K Singh on Sunday seeking his intervention in the case while alleging that one of the residents of the residential building had tried to tamper with the evidence of the case.

Mitesh Natwarlal Patel, a resident of Suryadeep Bungalows in Sola, said in the letter that his sister Anjana Patel, resident of E/604 in Ganesh Genesis, had died in the fire tragedy. Her son, Dhruv has suffered 75% burns in the incident and is being treated at a hospital. He alleged in the letter that a man named Raju Mishra has been trying to weaken the case by tampering with the evidence.

Raju Mishra was allotted two flats in Ganesh Genesis as he had installed fire safety system in the building. Later, he made renovation and combined both the flats. Raju Mishra is a very influential person having support from some political bigwigs. Now, he has been making efforts so that the case is closed,” reads the letter written by Mitesh.

When the incident occurred, some cannisters containing inflammable chemicals were stored in his house. Due to which, fire spread rapidly,” adds the letter. He further stated that the blast, which caused the fire, had occurred from an AC unit in Mishra’ house.
