Two dead, two injured in ship-welding explosion

Two men were killed and two injured following an explosion by a fuel tank on a ship while it was being welded in Khanaung Ywama village, Dala township, Yangon Region, on Tuesday.
The explosion occurred on the ship Su Yadana Twe as it was being worked on in the Mya Myitta Mon shipyard.
“The explosion happened while the fuel tank was being welded. The tank, measuring 6 metres by 7m by 3m, is believed to have contained residual fumes,” said a fire brigade officer from Dala who responded to the blast.
Police are investigating the explosion to determine if negligence was involved in the casualties. – Translated
