Updated: 2019–09–21
ROHTAK: Fire broke out at a desert-cooler factory in the industrial area of Bahadurgarh town, in the neighbouring Jhajjar district, at 4pm on Friday.
At least four workers were suspected to be trapped inside the factory. Six other were rescued, after fire tenders were pressed into service.
When the incident occurred, 10 workers were inside the factory. When locals spotted smoke billowing out of the factory, police and fire brigade office were informed, which rushed to the spot. Teams from Jhajjar, Rohtak , and Sonipat were also called in to douse the flames.
Fire brigade officer Tankiram Paliwal, who came with the team for rescue operations, told media that a short circuit was believed to be the reason behind the fire. A large number of cops had been deployed to maintain law and order and to contain the crowd at the spot.
