Punjab: Narrow escape for five as car catches fire in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: Five people, including one woman and two kids, had a narrow escape when their car in which they were travelling in caught fire suddenly near Preet Palace in Ludhiana on Sunday afternoon.
The fire brigade reached the spot for controlling the fire but by the time fire had engulfed the car completely.
The Indigo car belonged to Ram Kripal who is resident of Daba and works in a private company.
Ram Kripal along with his friend and his wife and two kids were going to attend some marriage function in Haibowal, when the car reached on Gill Road flyover they noticed some smoke coming out from dashboard.
By the time they reached near Preet palace suddenly flames started coming out of the engine of the car. They stopped the car and moved out.
The fire brigade received the call at 1.40pm about the incident and fire tenderS from Gill Road was rushed towards the spot. The blaze was controlled at 2.20pm. The car was towed away from the road.
The station fire officials SN Sharma said, “Luckily nobody was hurt as people in car came out in time. The firemen controlled the flame in a few minutes but the car gutted in fire completely.”
