Fire guts foam godown

Nagpur: Goods worth lakhs were gutted after a major fire broke out at a foam and mattresses godown on Friday evening at Ram Cooler Chowk, Mahal.
Soon, after the fire broke an eyewitness informed Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s fire control room. Ten fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Sources claimed that as the area was congested fire department officials were also concerned about the spread of the fire to other buildings and houses in the area.
Several senior fire officials, including chief fire officer Rajendra Uchke, rushed to the spot along with police officials to control the crowd. Till late night the fire was mostly doused. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, however, it spread rapidly due to foam and mattresses. It is learnt that the godown-cum-shop is owned by one Ingle.
