Tamil Nadu: Woman sets self ablaze, lover also dies

CHENNAI: A 38-year-old woman who set herself aflame and her boyfriend who tried to rescue her in Putlur near Avadi died at the government hospital in Tiruvallur on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Manju and Karthikeyan, also 38.
Police said Manju, who has a 11-year-old daughter from her marriage, had been in a live-in relationship Kartikeyan for the past few years. The couple often quarrelled over financial disputes and Karthikeyan frequently abused her. Manju set herself afire after one such quarrel, police said.
