Lucky escape for 45 as fire breaks out at Hotel Crown Palace

INDORE: Panic gripped Tukoganj area on Thursday evening when a fire broke out in second floor chimney of Hotel Crown Palace. No casualty was reported in the incident but the hotel’s second floor was destroyed completely.
Hotel staff informed the fire department at 6.44 pm and three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. A dozen fire fighters were pressed into service and flames were doused in an hour. The hotel staff and guests were evacuated safely, said fire officials.
Some 45 people were there in the hotel when the fire broke out. Officials said thick smoke engulfed the hotel and people panicked but it was controlled in time and no injury was reported. Several videos of the incident also went viral on social media.
Sub-Inspector Keshav Singh Kushwaha said minor fire broke out in the hotel but no injury was reported. “We are collecting details from hotel staff and guests about the incident. We have not received any complaint the case yet”, he said.
