Mumbai: Major fire erupts in Kurla’s Mehta building, no injuries reported

MUMBAI: A blaze erupted in the premises of Mehta building at Kurla in Maharashtra capital Mumbai late on Friday night. Civic officials said that fire brigade and police have already reached the site.
However, with the flames spreading all across the building, the source of fire could not be identified.
Fire fighting operations were carried out with seven fire tenders and six jumbo tankers.
Several blasts could be heard from the fire site. The locals suspect that cylinder blasts could be the reason behind fire. Local corporator from the area Ashraf Azmi said that efforts were in full swing to control the flames.
No injuries have yet been reported.
