Fire Destroys 11 Houses, A Car

TAWAU, Aug 7 (Bernama) — A fire destroyed 11 houses and a car in Kampung Kurnia Jaya, Batu 4, Jalan Apas, Monday night.
Tawau Fire & Rescue chief Rudy Fredzek said no one was injured in the blaze and the damage suffered was being determined.
He said the station was informed of the fire at 8.10 pm and 25 firemen were rushed there in two trucks.
The firemen were hampered by strong winds as the village is located close to the sea, he said, adding that the firemen also drew water from the sea to put out the fire.
