Updated: 2020–02–01
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a newly-constructed building in Hayathnagar on Friday. The fire was caused by leakage of gas. Five persons, including a constable, suffered minor injuries.
The fire took place at 10.20 am in the ground floor in old Munganoor area. Constable Venkatesh of Amberpet police station along with his wife Uma and two relatives were in the building when the fire broke out. “They were doing a house-warming puja at that time,” said Hayathnagar inspector K Satish.
Police said the fire started due to a gas cylinder leakage. “Thanks to good ventilation, the gas did not accumulate,” said Satish. A fire tender and a mist bullet doused the fire. The injured persons were shifted to hospital. TNN
