Vadodara: Man dies of severe burns in house fire

VADODARA: A 25-year-old man died from severe burns in Wadi area of the city on Friday afternoon. Fire brigade rushed to the spot and managed to control the blaze after battling for half-an-hour.
According to the firemen, smoke began billowing from the house of Satish Pardesi, who stays on the third floor of Shreeji Dham Complex in Wadi area, at about 2 pm. The neighbours called up fire brigade that reached the spot within few minutes. “The door was locked from inside and so we had to break it open. The entire hall of the flat was damaged and Pardesi was lying on the floor,” said Om Jadeja, fire officer.
Pardesi was rushed to the hospital but he was declared dead.
Police is investigating if Pardesi set himself or the house on fire. “We are waiting for FSL reports to ascertain the cause of fire and if any inflammable liquid was used. Locals claimed that he got married over a year ago but used to have frequent fights with his wife. The incident occurred when he was alone at home.
