Fire breaks out at VSP

Visakhapatnam: Fire broke out in small coal conveyors CC53 and CC131 at the Raw Material Handling Plant in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) on early morning Thursday.
Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), which owns and operates VSP, issued a statement stating that the fire was contained immediately and extinguished. “There was no major damage to the plant’s machinery. Production did not get affected as supply was maintained through (an) alternate route,” RINL stated in its statement.
According to RINL, the damaged conveyor was replaced within hours of the incident.tnn
