Hyderabad: Narrow escape for passengers as private bus catches fire

HYDERABAD: As many as 26 people had a narrow escape after the private bus they were travelling in caught fire in Hyderabad on Friday morning.
The incident took place in RC Puram area when the driver of the bus noticed smoke emanating from vehicle’s engine and asked the passengers to evacuate immediately.
Within minutes, flames engulfed the Orange Travels bus, which had departed from Mumbai on Thursday night,
“The driver noticed smoke in the engine of the bus and immediately asked all the passengers to evacuate. Soon after that, the bus caught fire,” said station fire officer Janaiah.
A fire tender and mist bullet were pressed into service to douse the fire. The officials suspect, overheating of the engine triggered the fire.
