AHMEDABAD: A major fire broke out at Shyam Shikar Complex in Bapunagar on Sunday morning. Fire department sources said they got a call of fire at 6.58am in the morning and rushed to the spot.
“Six fire fighting tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused in two hours. Fortunately nobody sustained any injuries in the fire,” said a senior fire department official.
According to fire department sources, the fire might have erupted from a gas cylinder at a tea stall located in the complex. “It can also be because of a short circuit. The forensic experts along with the team of fire officials are investigating the cause of fire,” added a fire department official.
According to local sources, more than 20 shops which used to sell either electric goods or mobile phones were gutted in the fire.
Bapunagar police officials have also reached the spot. “We are waiting for the report to know the cause of fire and then will initiate action. Nobody was injured in the fire as most of the shops were closed in the morning hours,” added a Bapunagar police official.
