Two killed, one critical after fire breaks out at temple in Kandivli

MUMBAI: Two persons were killed and one is critical following a fire at the Sai Baba Temple at Charkop in Kandivli in the early hours of Sunday.
Fire officials said that the fire started on account of a short circuit and spread rapidly. The victims were asleep when the fire broke out and the temple was locked.
“A call was received at 4.15am and the fire engines reached the spot by 4.30am. The fire was distinguished by 4.39am. However, two persons died on the spot on account of burn injuries,” said an official at the fire brigade control room.
The deceased have been identified as Subhash Khode (25) and Yuvaraj Pawar (25). They were declared “brought dead” at the Kandivali Shatabdi hospital.
Manu Gupta has suffered 90-95% burns and has been shifted from Kandivali Shatabdi to Sion hospital, said a BMC press release.
