Fire hits Land Registration Authority compound in QC

Fire broke out at the Land Registration Authority compound in Quezon City before dawn on Sunday.
One part of the Information Management Center inside the compound on NIA Road was affected by the fire, according to a report by Luisito Santos on Super Radyo dzBB.
Thick black smoke was seen at the area as the fire raged.
The fire was said to have started at 5 a.m.
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection and fire volunteers broke the windows and used ladders to put out the fire.
The fire which reached the third alarm was declared put out at 6:40 a.m., according to BFP Quezon City operations chief Fire Chief Inspector Joseph Del Mundo in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.
He added that the fire started at the computer room on the second floor of the building which is occupied by a private subcontractor of LRA.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but they are looking at electrical wiring as the possible cause.
No one was injured or has died in the fire.
Damage was initially estimated at P20,000. Del Mundo said only computers were burned and they did not see any documents damaged.
Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Acosta rushed to the fire scene as the PAO office was just a stone’s throw away from the affected building.
