Four Houses Destroyed In A Fire In Tawau

TAWAU, July 23 (Bernama) — Four wooden houses in Kampung Tanjung Batu Tengah were gutted in a fire late last night.
Tawau Fire and Rescue station chief, Rudy Fredzek, said 33 firemen in three engines rushed to the scene after the station received a distress call at 11.05pm.
“When the firemen arrived, the fire was at its peak and fiercely burning the four wooden ,” he said in a statement here today.
He said the firemen, however, prevented the fire from spreading to six other houses nearby.
The fire was completely doused at 1.23am today, he said, adding that there was no report of any casualty in the incident.
He said the cause of the fire and losses incurred were being investigated.
