KATHMANDU: A fire broke out at RP Restaurant near the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Monday morning, leaving restaurant owner Ranju Humagain and cook Narendra Basnet injured. The fire broke out at around 10:30 am after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in the restaurant’s kitchen. Security personnel and firefighters extinguished the blaze half an hour later. The injured are receiving treatment at the TUTH.

KATHMANDU: Unidentified people carried out a blast outside the house of businessman Nawaraj Bhusal at Likmarga, Balkhu, at around 9 pm on Sunday, police said. An electric battery was used for the purpose, according to police. Police reached the incident site with sniffing dogs soon after the blast. An investigation is underway. — HNS
