KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 (Bernama) — Nor Azlan Shah Mohd Yusof Shah thought nothing of an explosion he heard at 8.30 am today until he saw a double-storey house near his in Lorong Keramat 8 here go up in flames.
The 53-year-old assistant manager of a restaurant quickly mustered the help of some friends to get his valuables to safety.
Nor Azlan Shah said the occupants of the double-storey house, which was destroyed in the fire, had gone to Kelantan on Aug 6 to celebrate Aidilfitri.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue operations chief Samsol Maarif Saibani said 35 firemen were sent in six trucks from the Setiawangsa, Keramat, Sentul and Hang Tuah stations.
“When we arrived at the location, the structure of the house had been engulfed by the fire,” he said.
