Bush fire at UBD

A MAJOR bush fire occurred yesterday at Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) water tank area (photo below).
The fire which started at around 5pm raged in the hillside water tank area.
A team of firefighters and fire engines from Rimba Fire Station and supported by a team from Berakas Fire Station were at the scene to control the fire.
At press time the firefighters were trying to contain the blaze.
Separately, a forest fire broke out yesterday in Kg Sungai Beluhor Bukit Puan, near the Luagan Lalak Recreational Park in Labi, spreading quickly across several hectares of forested land at around 1pm, resulting in thick black smoke billowing across nearby areas, affecting even traffic along the main road nearby.
