Fire engulfs Angsaduo Market

More than 15 vendor stalls have been destroyed by a fire that broke out in Angsaduo Market, Jambi, at around 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
“The flames quickly engulfed the smallholdings resided in by vendors in the market,” said Muchlis, an official from the Jambi administration’s Market Agency.
The cause of the fire remains unknown “but we suspect it was caused by an electrical short circuit”, Muchlis said.
Three fire trucks were dispatched to extinguish the fire.
Local police are still investigating the incident. “We still cannot confirm the cause of the incident,” said market police chief Comr.Ranefli Dian Candra. (ebf)
