Two House, A Shop And Food Stall Razed In Fire

SANDAKAN, Aug 23 (Bernama) — Two houses, a shop and a food stall were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Cahaya Baru, near here, today.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department chief Jemishin Ujin said two fire engines with 23 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 11.08am.
When the fire fighters arrived at the scene, the houses, shop and stall were already destroyed, he said.
However, the fire was brought under control by 11.20am, he said.
He added that investigation was going on to determine the cause of the fire and estimated losses.
