Pasay warehouse fire lasts more than 30 hours, still burns
Updated: 2013-08-22-12:18
At least P3 million was destroyed in a fire that razed a warehouse in Pasay City, has lasted for more than 30 hours as of Wednesday evening and is still raging as of posting time.
The fire at the four-story structure at Russel Street started past 3 p.m. Tuesday but remained at Task Force Bravo Wednesday noon, radio dzBB reported Wednesday evening.
Firefighters had a hard time putting out the fire because of the flammable items inside such as shoes, rubber sandals and textiles, the report said.
No one was initially reported injured in the fire, even as smoke continued to come out of the structure.
Arson investigators were quoted in the report as saying the fire has destroyed at least P3 million worth of merchandise.
A separate report on “24 Oras” said the firefighters managed to penetrate the warehouse Wednesday evening, and expect to put it out before midnight. — ELR, GMA News
