65-year-old dies in factory fire
Updated: 2013-08-25-06:53
NEW DELHI: A 65-year-old unidentified man, believed to be a labourer or a security officer, was charred to death when a fire broke out at a plastic factory in outer Delhi on Saturday morning. The fire began on the first floor of a multi-storey building at Narela, which houses other manufacturing units as well. It soon spread to the other two floors of the MC Plastic unit.
The man was probably asleep when the fire broke out, police said. “It took 27 fire tenders and three hours to douse the flames completely. The charred body was later handed over to the police,” said a Delhi fire services official. Police believe that the fire was probably caused due to a short circuit.
