Man Burnt To Death In Fire In Telupid

BELURAN, Sept 8 (Bernama) — A man was burnt to death in a fire involving a house and a store stocking diesel oil in Kampung Gambaron 2, Telupid last night.
The victim was identified as Sahar Mohd Hatta, aged 26.
In the fire at about 7.50 last night, another man identified as Rahmat Misse, 25, also suffered burns and was now being treated at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan and reported to be in stable condition.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Head Ordine Gilu said a fire engine with five personnel from the Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 7.59pm.
He said the firemen, headed by Operations Officer Bernadius Jacob, only arrived at the scene at 9.27pm due to the location of the fire situated about 99 kilometres from Kinabatangan.
He said the fire was extinguished at 9.50pm and Sahar’s burnt body was found under the rubble of the razed building.
